Welcome to CSP Pilates

Matwork and Reformer Pilates in a fun and supportive environment

Located in Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross, CSP Pilates can help prevent & correct imbalance whilst optimising mind and body health. Your instructor, Lauren, has over 20 years of experience and teaches matwork, reformer and 1:1 sessions.

What is Pilates?

First introduced by Joseph Pilates during World War 1 whilst working as a hospital orderly to rehab the infirm. By recognising the importance of movement & exercise, Pilates has become the much practiced mind body centering technique that emphasises the importance of beginning & progressing movement from a central core of stability.

Lauren

Having qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004, Lauren quickly recognised the benefits Pilates exercises and practice had to offer her patients.

Encouraging good movement patterns, preventing & correcting imbalances & optimising mind / body health.

Now a certified APPI matwork & reformer pilates instructor, Lauren has so much to offer the clients she teaches with her in depth knowledge & experience.

Lauren has an incredible ability to help you become the best version of yourself – building confidence, strength, and mobility in a way that feels empowering and safe. She encourages you to push your limits while creating a warm, welcoming environment where you truly feel supported.
Her background as a physio gives complete peace of mind, knowing you’re in expert hands at all times. The classes attract such a lovely, supportive community that I wouldn’t train anywhere else. Lauren is strong, inspiring, and living proof that Pilates truly works. I couldn’t recommend her more and will keep coming back.

Lauren’s Pilates classes are exceptional. She is incredibly knowledgeable and gives clear, precise instruction in a way that is always supportive and completely non-judgmental. Her classes are fun, welcoming, and she makes everyone feel comfortable, regardless of experience level. Lauren provides all the equipment and is always responsive to individual questions, offering thoughtful, personalised guidance. As a trained physiotherapist, she has a great way of explaining how each exercise affects your body, and explains clearly how each exercise impacts strength, mobility, and alignment. I’ve worked with many Pilates instructors over the years, and Lauren is without question the best I’ve ever had.

I was a complete newcomer to Pilates a few years ago and Lauren made me feel really welcome and relaxed. She offers various levels of difficulty for each of the exercises so you don’t feel there is a competitive edge to the classes at all. I feel in far better shape now and continue to have Pilates in my weekly exercise routine. Thanks Lauren!

Lauren is a fantastic Pilates instructor. Her classes are always different and well planned; incorporating different levels of difficulty to suit all class members. She is consistently bright and fun, and you can tell that she wants her clients to get the most out of her classes. I have been taking Lauren’s classes each week for several years and have really felt the difference in my body. I can honestly say that Lauren is passionate about Pilates and this shines through!

Pilates with Lauren is great!
The classes are fun but still a proper workout and her energy is infectious.
Her instructions are easy to follow and she’s really supportive of everyone, whatever their age or experience and has helped me make accommodations following an injury

We have attended Lauren’s mat Pilates for several years now and definitely feel the benefits being 60 somethings! The classes are a range of ages and Lauren always gives at least 3 ability stages. Classes are fun and we always come away feeling better in mind and body.

I have been going to Lauren’s Pilates classes for nearly four years and feel a constant benefit from her guidance and professionalism. Not only have I physically benefitted but also mentally – we always have a “little” bit laughter at some point during the class.
Would definitely recommend people give her classes a go!

I’ve been doing Pilates (reformer and mat), for the last 20 years. I’ve had some good instructors, but Lauren is the stand out best. I’ve been going to Lauren for 5+ years. I’ve never felt as though a single class is a repeat and she always injects enthusiasm into every moment. Her physio training means she knows her client’s weaknesses and offers adaptions for every exercise. She’s the consummate professional, but is also a friend, with a wicked sense of humour. I’m currently obsessed with her reformer classes!

Lauren is simply the most amazing, knowledgeable, patient and fun Pilates instructor!
Mat and reformer classes fly past as they are varied, friendly and motivating whatever your age and ability level.
I started as a complete beginner and Lauren’s classes have made a huge difference to my core stability, strength and balance. I’ve never enjoyed exercise more – after a few years of mat classes I tried small group reformer – and now I love that too!
Due to Lauren’s wealth of expertise as a physio and Pilates instructor, she gives great individualised guidance and adapted instructions for any underlying injuries/issues.
I can’t recommend Lauren and her classes enough! 10/10 would recommend.

I honestly can’t rave enough about how amazing Lauren’s classes are!!
She is simply brilliant…and always greets us with the biggest smile and makes everyone feel welcome.
The routines are different every class and she encourages us to push harder and achieve more. She’s so knowledgeable re muscles/bones/how the body works… and always explains the moves and how they impact us. She even talks us through breath work and the warm downs are incredible.
I’m part of the Friday mat crew and such a great bunch… always lots of giggles also!! As Lauren says ‘laughing is good for stomach muscles’ so win win 🥰

Matwork – Group Classes

Matwork Pilates is based on a series of exercises consisting of strength, mobility & stretching completed on an exercise mat.

In Lauren’s classes you will find a fun and light hearted atmosphere, whilst being led through the exercises. Often using a variety of small equipment including small weights, soft balls, bands & resistance rings, the classes are predominantly mixed level with various difficultly levels offered.

Reformer – small group classes (up to 3 people)

Whilst developing his exercise movements, Joseph Pilates would use springs from old hospital beds to add load & resistance. This lead him to develop the machines used to develop his matwork concepts. The most widely used of these is the reformer machine.

The small group classes allow a very focussed session, with tailoring to everyone’s specific needs.

1:1 sessions

Lauren offers personalised one on one sessions in mat, reformer or both by request. Please email Lauren for further information.
